The opportunity
Job Description: Senior Communications Executive
This is an exciting time to join the New Homes Quality Board team. As a Senior Communications Executive, your role will be to work with the Director of Communications to craft, coordinate and deliver compelling communications across our stakeholders, including housebuilders, consumers and government.
You’ll be part of a small organisation in a team of two, and will be working across a number of different communication channels ranging from website, social media, through to consumer guides and public relations activities.

What you’ll bring
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Developing, producing, and maintaining communication materials.
- Liaising with third party design agencies.
- Crafting compelling narratives for stakeholder audiences.
- Researching, writing, publishing news releases, case studies, guides, and other resources, primarily for consumer and housebuilder audiences.
- Championing brand consistency for NHQB.
- Maintaining web content and executing social media strategies.
- Updating databases and media lists.
- Media monitoring and reporting.
- Helping to prepare presentations and reports.
- Supporting with coordination of external events and conferences.
Key skills and knowledge required for this role:
- Minimum of 3-4 years working in a communications, PR, or similar role.
- Strong writing skills and proven experience of delivering communications across multiple domains.
- Strong organisational, multitasking and proof-reading skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic SME environment.
- Excellent communication and people skills, building effective relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders to support strategic communications and with a view to outcomes.
- Good knowledge and experience of project management.
- Ability to support business leaders to identify their communications needs and help deliver end to end communications programmes to enable this change.
- Ability to manage resistance and adopting various strategies to do so.
- A strong ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to ‘get hands dirty’ i.e. help the team out with tasks outside of role if needed.
- Proficient in MS Office, familiarity with design software (e.g. Canva, Photoshop, InDesign) and content management systems is a plus.
